NOVGOROD, Russia, Aug 14 (Reuters) - President Boris
Yeltsin said on Friday Russia was braced to resist a new wave
of crisis on the world financial markets following turmoil on
Moscow's thin stock, bond and currency markets this week.
"At the moment, there is a new wave of world financial
crisis and we have to brace ourselves again to be able to deal
with this situation," he told reporters in the northwestern
city of Novgorod. "We've calculated our reserves and are ready
to resist this wave."
