MOSCOW, Aug 26 (Reuters) - The battered Russian rouble was
quoted on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) at
7.9890/7.9900 to the dollar on Wednesday after being fixed the
previous day at 7.8600 to the dollar.
The rouble on Tuesday suffered its largest one day fall for
four years, sliding 10 percent. The currency has been steadily
losing ground since it was effectively allowed to devalue last
week by the government of former prime minister Sergei
Kiriyenko, who was sacked on Sunday.
